  • 1 loaf loaf of sourdough bread
  • 4 cloves cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped or 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Optional: Grated parmesan cheese or mozzarella for added flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with the minced garlic, fresh parsley, and salt. Stir until well combined.
  3. Cut the sourdough loaf in half lengthwise, or slice it into smaller pieces for easier serving.
  4. Generously spread the garlic-butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread.
  5. If desired, sprinkle grated parmesan or mozzarella over the garlic spread.
Baking
  1. Place the prepared bread on a baking sheet and bake for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the garlic is fragrant.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, slice into portions, and serve warm.

Notes

Use high-quality sourdough for best results. Store in an airtight container for 2-3 days, or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in a toaster oven or conventional oven.
