Preparation
- Preheat your skillet or griddle over medium heat. While that’s warming up, prepare your ingredients.
- In a small bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, diced roasted jalapeños, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until well-blended.
- Take one slice of bread and spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture on it. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Place the second slice of bread on top to create a sandwich. Spread the softened butter evenly on the outside of both sandwiches.
Cooking
- Place your assembled sandwich onto the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is beautifully melted.
- Remove from the skillet, slice in half, and serve hot.
Notes
For varied flavors, try different breads like ciabatta or focaccia, mix in other cheeses, or use pickled jalapeños. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
