Preparation
- Peel your ripe bananas and slice them into rounds about 1-inch thick.
- Spread a small amount of peanut butter on one slice, then top it with another slice to form a peanut butter banana sandwich. Repeat this process with all banana rounds.
- Place your peanut butter banana sandwiches on a parchment-lined tray and pop them in the freezer for about 30 minutes.
- Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 30-second intervals, and stirring until completely melted and smooth.
- Dip each sandwich into the melted chocolate, allowing any excess to drip off. Sprinkle with chopped nuts and a pinch of salt right after coating.
- Return the chocolate-covered sandwiches to the parchment-lined tray and place them back in the freezer for at least 1-2 hours or until the chocolate is completely set.
- Remove from the freezer and enjoy your delightful bites straight away.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to two weeks. For softer sandwiches, let them sit for a few minutes before eating. Avoid microwaving to preserve the chocolate texture.
