  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped Or any other preferred herbs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper Optional
For the Bread
  • 1 loaf sourdough bread (preferably a large round or batard)
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese Optional, for an extra cheesy touch

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until well blended.
  3. Take the sourdough loaf and make deep cuts across the top, creating slices without cutting all the way through the bottom.
  4. Using a butter knife, generously spread the garlic butter mixture in between the slices and over the top of the bread.
  5. If you’re feeling indulgent, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  6. Wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil.
Baking
  1. Place the wrapped bread in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes.
  2. For an added crispy finish, unwrap the bread and bake for an additional 5 minutes.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven, let it cool slightly, and serve it warm.
