How to Make Buffalo Chicken Dip – A Crowd-Pleasing Appetizer

This Buffalo Chicken Dip is the ultimate creamy, cheesy, and spicy appetizer! Packed with shredded chicken, hot sauce, ranch, and gooey cheese, it’s a game-day favorite that’s always a hit at parties.

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer or spoon
  • Baking dish (8x8-inch or similar)
  • Spatula
  • Oven

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken rotisserie or boiled
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup hot sauce like Frank’s RedHot
  • ½ cup ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Step 1: Preheat the Oven
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  • Step 2: Mix the Dip
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, hot sauce, ranch dressing, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  • Stir in ½ cup of cheddar cheese and all of the mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.
  • Step 3: Bake
  • Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
  • Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the cheese is melted.
  • Step 4: Garnish & Serve
  • Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  • Garnish with chopped green onions for extra flavor.
  • Serve warm with tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrots, or toasted baguette slices.
