How to Make Buffalo Chicken Dip – A Crowd-Pleasing Appetizer

This Buffalo Chicken Dip is the ultimate creamy, cheesy, and spicy appetizer! Packed with shredded chicken, hot sauce, ranch, and gooey cheese, it’s a game-day favorite that’s always a hit at parties.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups shredded cooked chicken rotisserie or boiled
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup hot sauce like Frank’s RedHot
  • ½ cup ranch dressing or blue cheese dressing
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese divided
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions for garnish

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Hand mixer or spoon
  • Baking dish (8x8-inch or similar)
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Step 1: Preheat the Oven
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish with cooking spray or butter.
  3. Step 2: Mix the Dip
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken, softened cream cheese, hot sauce, ranch dressing, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
  5. Stir in ½ cup of cheddar cheese and all of the mozzarella cheese. Mix until well combined.
  6. Step 3: Bake
  7. Transfer the mixture to the greased baking dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese over the top.
  9. Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until the dip is bubbly and the cheese is melted.
  10. Step 4: Garnish & Serve
  11. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly.
  12. Garnish with chopped green onions for extra flavor.
  13. Serve warm with tortilla chips, celery sticks, carrots, or toasted baguette slices.
