Hot Honey Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb chicken thighs or breast cut into bite-sized pieces
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper optional, for extra heat
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • ½ cup honey
  • 1 –2 tbsp hot sauce adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Method
 

  1. Season the Chicken:
  2. Season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.
  3. Coat the Chicken:
  4. In one bowl, mix the flour, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs.
  6. Dip each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, then in the egg, and then back in the flour mixture for an extra crispy coating.
  7. Fry the Chicken:
  8. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  9. Add the chicken pieces and cook for about 5–7 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  10. Prepare the Hot Honey Sauce:
  11. In a small saucepan, combine the honey, hot sauce, and butter. Stir and heat over low heat until the butter is melted and the sauce is smooth.
  12. Coat the Chicken:
  13. Drizzle the hot honey sauce over the fried chicken pieces, or toss them in the sauce until evenly coated.
  14. Serve:
  15. Serve hot, garnished with fresh parsley for an extra pop of color and flavor.
