Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined Can be fresh or frozen
  • 1 pound halal turkey sausage, sliced
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
Sauce Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce Make sure it’s halal-certified
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Begin by rinsing the shrimp under cold water (if frozen), then pat dry with paper towels. Slice the turkey sausage into bite-sized pieces and prepare the broccoli by cutting it into florets.
Sauce Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, combine the honey, minced garlic, and soy sauce. Whisk until smooth and set aside.
Cooking the Sausage
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced turkey sausage and cook until it’s browned and heated through, about 5-7 minutes.
Cooking the Shrimp
  1. Once the sausage is cooked, push it to one side of the skillet. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and the shrimp. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until shrimp turn pink and opaque.
Incorporating the Broccoli
  1. Add the broccoli to the skillet, and pour the honey-garlic sauce over everything. Toss gently to coat.
Simmering
  1. Lower the heat and let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the broccoli is tender and the sauce has thickened slightly.
Serving
  1. Serve this delicious Honey Garlic Shrimp, Sausage & Broccoli hot over steamed rice or noodles. Enjoy!

Notes

For substitutions, you can use halal chicken or beef sausage instead of turkey sausage, or tofu/tempeh for a vegetarian version. Ensure not to overcrowd the pan while cooking.
