Equipment

  • Rolling Pin
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper or silicone mat
  • Pastry brush
  • Knife or pizza cutter

Ingredients

  • Dough and Base:
  • 1 pound pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 cup marinara or pizza sauce optional, for spreading or dipping
  • Fillings:
  • 6 ounces sliced pepperoni
  • 6 ounces sliced salami or ham
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes for a spicy kick
  • For the Crust:
  • 1 egg beaten, for egg wash
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds or dried oregano for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat. Roll the pizza dough into a rectangle, approximately 10x14 inches, on a floured surface.
  • Assemble the Fillings:
  • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges. Layer pepperoni, salami or ham, and shredded mozzarella evenly. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes if desired.
  • Roll the Stromboli:
  • Starting from one long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam and edges to seal securely. Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Apply the Egg Wash:
  • Brush the entire stromboli with the beaten egg using a pastry brush. Sprinkle sesame seeds or dried oregano on top for extra flavor. Use a knife to make 4–5 slits on the top of the dough to release steam while baking.
  • Bake the Stromboli:
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and fully cooked.
  • Serve:
  • Let the stromboli cool for 5–10 minutes before slicing into 1-inch pieces. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce for dipping.
