Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- If using store-bought pizza dough, roll it out on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle, about ¼ inch thick.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over the surface of the dough, leaving about an inch around the edges.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and your choice of toppings evenly over the sauce. Don’t overfill to avoid spills.
- Starting from one end, gently roll the dough into a log shape, tucking in the filling, and seal the edge with a little water.
- Cut the roll into 1-inch sections and place them on your prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning if desired.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
- Allow to cool for a minute before serving with extra pizza sauce for dipping.
Notes
Don’t overstuff the rolls, experiment with different toppings, and keep an eye on baking time to prevent burning. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
