Homemade Ice Cream Recipe

Creamy, delicious homemade ice cream made with just a few simple ingredients. Perfect for a summer treat or anytime indulgence—no fancy equipment required!

Equipment

  • Ice cream maker (optional)
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk or hand mixer
  • Freezer-safe container

Ingredients
  

  • Basic Vanilla Ice Cream Base:
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • Optional Add-Ins:
  • Chocolate chips crushed cookies, or fruit puree

Instructions
 

  • Combine Ingredients:
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sugar, and vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
  • Churn the Ice Cream (if using a machine):
  • Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, until the mixture reaches a soft-serve consistency.
  • No-Churn Method:
  • If you don’t have an ice cream maker, whip the heavy cream separately until soft peaks form. Gently fold in the milk, sugar, and vanilla mixture. Pour into a freezer-safe container.
  • Freeze:
  • Transfer the churned or no-churn mixture to a freezer-safe container, cover, and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
  • Serve:
  • Scoop and serve as-is or with your favorite toppings like hot fudge, caramel, or fresh fruit.
