Preparation
- Drizzle olive oil into a large skillet over medium heat. Allow it to heat for about 1-2 minutes.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the beef is browned and fully cooked.
- Toss in the chopped onion and garlic, stirring well. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Gradually fold in the chopped cabbage, stirring to mix it with the beef and onion. Let it wilt slightly for about 2-3 minutes.
- Sprinkle in the paprika, salt, black pepper, and soy sauce (if using). Pour in the beef broth or water, mixing well to combine everything.
- Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 10 minutes, occasionally stirring, until the cabbage is tender.
- Once everything is cooked through, give it a final stir and serve hot, garnished with your favorite toppings if desired.
Notes
For a lighter option, consider using ground turkey instead of beef. You can also add more vegetables like carrots or bell peppers for extra nutrition. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for 2-3 months.
