  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets Fresh broccoli is preferred for best flavor.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce Optional
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon minced ginger Optional
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Divided for cooking
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Preparation
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once the beef is browned, add minced garlic and ginger (if using), cooking for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Toss in the broccoli florets and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the broccoli is tender yet crisp.
  4. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, and brown sugar. Mix well before pouring this sauce over the beef and broccoli mixture in the skillet.
  5. Stir everything together and let it simmer for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Remove from heat and serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Use fresh ingredients for best flavor. Add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas if desired. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, reheating gently.
