Grilled Corn on the Cob Recipe

Discover how to make perfect grilled corn on the cob! With smoky, charred kernels and a delicious buttery finish, this easy recipe is the ultimate summer side dish.

Equipment

  • Grill (gas or charcoal)
  • Tongs
  • Brush for butter or oil
  • Aluminum foil (optional for wrapping)

Ingredients

  • 4 ears of corn husks and silk removed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil or melted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: extra melted butter grated Parmesan, fresh herbs (such as parsley or cilantro), chili powder, lime wedges

Instructions

  • Preheat the Grill
  • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 400-450°F (200-230°C). This temperature helps create a nice char without overcooking the corn.
  • Prep the Corn
  • Brush each ear of corn with a light layer of olive oil or melted butter. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Grill the Corn
  • Place the corn directly on the grill grates. Grill for about 10-12 minutes, turning every 2-3 minutes with tongs until the kernels are tender and charred in spots. Adjust grilling time depending on your preferred level of char.
  • Optional Foil Method
  • For a gentler cook, wrap each ear in aluminum foil before placing it on the grill. Grill for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally, then unwrap and place directly on the grill for 2-3 minutes to get some char.
  • Serve and Enjoy
  • Remove the corn from the grill and brush with extra melted butter if desired. Sprinkle with your favorite toppings or enjoy it plain.
