Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash the tomatoes thoroughly, then dice them into bite-sized pieces and place them in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Finely chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl.
  3. Chop the red onion and add it to the mixture.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  5. Drizzle the dressing over the salad mixture and toss gently.
  6. Serve immediately, or let it chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

For best flavor, use fresh, ripe ingredients. Keep the dressing separate if prepping in advance to maintain freshness. Avoid over-mixing to keep tomato chunks intact.
