- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain the excess fat.
- Add the diced onions and sliced mushrooms to the skillet, cooking until the mushrooms are tender and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in the cooked rice, cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly coated.
- Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish and sprinkle the shredded cheese on top if using.
- Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until the top is bubbly and golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let it sit for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For best results, use lean ground beef, add your favorite veggies like frozen peas or bell peppers, and stir the mixture well. Watch the baking time and consider covering loosely with foil if it browns too quickly. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
