Preparation
- In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- Pour the activated yeast mixture and olive oil into the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- On a floured surface, knead the dough for about 5-7 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
- Gradually knead in the minced garlic and mixed herbs until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan, cover it, and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake the bread for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown. The internal temperature should be around 190°F (88°C).
- Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!
Notes
Ensure you knead the dough enough to achieve the right elasticity. Using fresh herbs and garlic will elevate the flavor! Experiment with different herbs and spices for a personalized touch.
