This Garlic Bread recipe is golden, buttery, and loaded with garlic flavor. Perfect as a side dish for pasta, soups, or any meal, it's quick and easy to make at home!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French or Italian bread
  • ½ cup unsalted butter softened
  • 3 –4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Mixing bowl
  • Knife
  • Spatula
  • Pastry brush

Method

  1. Preheat the Oven:
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
  3. Prepare the Garlic Butter:
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well blended.
  5. Slice the Bread:
  6. Cut the loaf in half lengthwise to create two flat pieces. Alternatively, slice the bread into thick individual slices for portioned garlic bread.
  7. Spread the Butter:
  8. Generously spread the garlic butter mixture over the cut sides of the bread. For extra flavor, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top if desired.
  9. Bake the Bread:
  10. Place the bread on the prepared baking sheet, buttered side up. Bake in the preheated oven for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crispy.
  11. Optional Broiling:
  12. For a crispier top, switch the oven to broil for the last 1–2 minutes. Keep a close eye to prevent burning.
  13. Serve:
  14. Remove the bread from the oven, slice into smaller pieces if needed, and serve warm.
