Preparation
- Start by peeling your ripe bananas. Cut them into slices about 1/2 inch thick.
- In a non-stick skillet, melt the 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
Cooking
- Once the butter is melted, gently place the banana slices in the skillet.
- While the bananas are frying, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl.
- Once the bananas are golden brown on one side (about 2-3 minutes), sprinkle the sugar-cinnamon mixture over them.
- Carefully flip the banana slices using a spatula. Let them cook for another 2 minutes.
- Add the 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the skillet and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring gently.
- Remove from heat and serve warm, optionally topped with whipped cream, nuts, or yogurt.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat in a skillet for best texture.
