Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour For the main dough
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Leavening agent
  • 1 teaspoon salt To enhance flavor
  • 1 tablespoon sugar For slight sweetness
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup water Can substitute with milk for a richer taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Plus extra for brushing

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
  2. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the water (or milk) and olive oil. Stir until a dough forms. It might be a little sticky but that’s perfectly fine!
  3. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead briefly, about 1-2 minutes, until smooth.
  4. Form the dough into a round shape, or into smaller dinner rolls as desired.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the shaped dough into the air fryer basket (spraying it lightly with cooking spray if desired). Cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
  3. Allow the bread to cool slightly before slicing. Brush with a little olive oil or butter for extra flavor if desired.

Notes

Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days. For longer storage, slice and freeze the bread for up to three months. Reheat in the air fryer or microwave but avoid overcooking to maintain texture.
