Cooking the Orzo
- In a medium pot, bring 2 cups of chicken broth to a boil.
- Add orzo and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Sautéing Chicken Sausage
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the sliced chicken sausage and cook until browned and heated through, about 5 minutes.
Adding Broccoli
- Toss in the broccoli florets to the skillet and sauté for another 3-4 minutes until they’re bright green and tender-crisp.
Making the Sauce
- Lower the heat, and pour in the heavy cream.
- Stir in garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer for 2-3 minutes, letting the flavors meld together.
Combining Ingredients
- Add the cooked orzo to the skillet and toss to combine everything.
- If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of chicken broth to reach your desired consistency.
Serving
