Method
Preparation
- Gather all your ingredients. Make sure your cream cheese is at room temperature for easier mixing.
Crushing Oreos
- In a large mixing bowl, take your Oreo cookies and crush them into fine crumbs. You can use a food processor for this or put them in a plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
Mixing
- In the same bowl, add the softened cream cheese and mix it well with the crushed Oreos until it forms a sticky dough. If you’re using vanilla extract, add it now to enhance the flavor.
Forming Cookies
- Take small amounts of the Oreo mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Chilling
- Cover the baking sheet with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to firm up the cookie balls.
Melting Chocolate
- While the cookie dough is chilling, melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat them in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted.
Coating
- Once the cookie balls are firm, dip each one into the melted white chocolate, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Carefully remove them and place them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
Sprinkling
- Immediately sprinkle colorful sprinkles on top of each chocolate-coated cookie ball before the chocolate sets.
Chilling Again
- Keep the coated cookies in the refrigerator for another 15-20 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden.
Serving
- Once done, your Festive Easter Oreo Cookies are ready to serve! Enjoy them with your family and friends.
Notes
For vegan options, substitute cream cheese with a plant-based alternative and use dairy-free chocolate. Ensure to allow ample time for chilling to prevent cookies from becoming too soft while coating with chocolate.
