  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast A cut that turns tender when slow-cooked.
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Look for Halal-friendly brands.
  • 1 cup beef broth Adds moisture and deep flavor.
Vegetables
  • 1 onion, chopped For rich aromatics.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Because garlic makes everything better!
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies Adds a wonderful zesty flavor.
Taco Components
  • Taco shells Soft or crunchy, your choice!
  • Toppings: Shredded cheese, lettuce, sour cream, salsa Get creative!

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Chop the onion and mince the garlic to release their flavors.
  2. Rub the taco seasoning generously all over the beef chuck roast.
  3. In your slow cooker, add the seasoned beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, broth, and the can of diced tomatoes with green chilies. No need to stir.
Cooking
  1. Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for 8 hours, or high for 4 hours.
  2. Once cooked, remove the beef and shred it using two forks.
Assembly
  1. Fill the taco shells with the shredded beef and add your favorite toppings.
  2. Gather your loved ones, serve up those tacos, and enjoy!

Notes

For meat substitutions, consider using chicken thighs, ensuring they are Halal. If in a rush, opt for the high setting, but low and slow yields the best tenderness. Avoid skipping the seasoning.
