Preparation

- In a large bowl, combine the hulled strawberries, ½ cup of sugar, and lemon juice. Toss the strawberries until evenly coated and let sit for about 10 minutes.
Making the Batter
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining ½ cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually stir in milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract until you have a smooth batter.
Combining
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish, ensuring an even layer.
- Spoon the strawberry mixture (with juices) on top of the batter; do not mix.
Baking
- Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the edges are bubbling.
Serving
- Allow the cobbler to cool for at least 10 minutes before serving warm.
