Ingredients

Pasta Ingredients
  • 400 g Key Pasta (spaghetti or penne)
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Red chili flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 400 g Crushed tomatoes (canned or fresh)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Start by bringing a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add your Key Pasta and cook until al dente according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes.
Preparing the Sauce
  1. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  2. Sprinkle in the red chili flakes and stir, letting the flavors meld for about 30 seconds.
  3. Pour in the crushed tomatoes and bring the mixture to a simmer. Season with salt and pepper, and let it cook for around 10 minutes to thicken.
Combining and Serving
  1. Once the pasta is cooked, drain it and add it directly to the skillet of sauce. Toss everything together gently to ensure the pasta is well coated.
  2. Plate the Easy Spicy Arrabbiata Pasta and garnish with fresh basil. Enjoy hot for the ultimate experience!

Notes

For a milder sauce, use fewer chili flakes or add a pinch of sugar. You can also toss in roasted vegetables or grilled chicken for a heartier dish. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months.
