For the Bars
  • 1 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy) Choose smooth or crunchy based on preference.
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup Make sure it’s Halal compliant.
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
Optional Toppings
  • chocolate chips For those who want added sweetness.
  • chopped nuts Add more crunch.
  • coconut flakes For a tropical twist.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Lightly grease an 8x8-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, honey (or maple syrup), vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until smoothly blended.
  3. Gradually fold in the rolled oats to the peanut butter mixture.
  4. Transfer the mixture into the prepared baking dish, pressing it down firmly to create an even layer.
  5. Sprinkle optional toppings like chocolate chips or nuts on top and gently press them into the mixture.
  6. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the bars to set.
  7. Lift them out of the dish using the parchment paper and cut into squares.
  8. Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Notes

For a nut-free version, use sun butter or seed butter. You can replace half of the rolled oats with crushed graham crackers for a different flavor. Store in the refrigerator for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
