Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Puff Pastry:
Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch square. Cut the sheet into 4 equal rectangles.
Add the Chocolate:
Place 1–2 tablespoons of chocolate near one short edge of each rectangle. You can use chocolate chips, broken chocolate bars, or even chocolate hazelnut spread.
Roll the Croissants:
Starting from the edge with the chocolate, roll the pastry tightly into a log. Place the rolled pastries seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
Egg Wash:
In a small bowl, whisk together the beaten egg and milk. Brush the tops of the pastries with the egg wash to create a golden, shiny finish.
Bake:
Bake the pastries in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.
Cool and Dust:
Allow the pastries to cool slightly on the baking sheet before dusting them with powdered sugar for an elegant touch.
Serve:
Enjoy warm for the ultimate experience, as the chocolate inside will be perfectly gooey.
