Easy Mouthwatering Chocolate Croissant Pastry

Ingredients
  

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 4 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate bars or chips
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 tablespoon powdered sugar for dusting

  • Sharp knife or pizza cutter

Method
 

  1. Preheat Oven:
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Prepare the Puff Pastry:
  4. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface into a 12-inch square. Cut the sheet into 4 equal rectangles.
  5. Add the Chocolate:
  6. Place 1–2 tablespoons of chocolate near one short edge of each rectangle. You can use chocolate chips, broken chocolate bars, or even chocolate hazelnut spread.
  7. Roll the Croissants:
  8. Starting from the edge with the chocolate, roll the pastry tightly into a log. Place the rolled pastries seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Egg Wash:
  10. In a small bowl, whisk together the beaten egg and milk. Brush the tops of the pastries with the egg wash to create a golden, shiny finish.
  11. Bake:
  12. Bake the pastries in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown.
  13. Cool and Dust:
  14. Allow the pastries to cool slightly on the baking sheet before dusting them with powdered sugar for an elegant touch.
  15. Serve:
