  • 8 ounces Key Cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or feta)
  • 4 ounces Salami, sliced Halal-friendly
  • 1 cup Pickles, sliced
  • ½ cup Olive oil
  • ¼ cup Vinegar (balsamic or red wine) Ensure halal compliance
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Herbs (oregano, basil, or thyme)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting your chosen cheese into bite-sized cubes. If using feta, crumble it instead.
  2. In a bowl, combine the olive oil, vinegar, minced garlic, and your selected herbs. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Add the cheese cubes, sliced salami, and pickles into the bowl with the marinade. Give it a gentle stir to coat everything evenly.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or transfer everything into a glass container with a lid. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably an hour.
  5. Once ready, transfer your marinated mix to a serving bowl, and use toothpicks for easy handheld snacking.

Notes

For alternatives, swap out salami for sliced turkey or beef, and try using pepper jack or creamy brie cheese. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 4-5 days. This dish does not require reheating.
