Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice Use freshly squeezed for best flavor.
Optional Glaze
  • powdered sugar for dusting Optional for garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease it with cooking spray.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  4. In another bowl, beat together the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, lemon juice, and zest until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  2. Bake for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Serving
  1. Allow the brownies to cool in the dish for about 10-15 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper.
  2. Cut into squares, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and enjoy!
Optional Glaze
  1. While cooling, prepare a simple lemon glaze by mixing powdered sugar with a splash of lemon juice. Drizzle over cooled brownies for added sweetness.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze for up to a month.
