Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice Use freshly squeezed for best flavor.

Optional Glaze

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease it with cooking spray.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • In another bowl, beat together the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, lemon juice, and zest until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined.

Baking

  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  • Bake for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cooling and Serving

  • Allow the brownies to cool in the dish for about 10-15 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper.
  • Cut into squares, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and enjoy!

Optional Glaze

  • While cooling, prepare a simple lemon glaze by mixing powdered sugar with a splash of lemon juice. Drizzle over cooled brownies for added sweetness.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze for up to a month.
