Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or grease it with cooking spray.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat together the melted butter, granulated sugar, eggs, lemon juice, and zest until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding gently until just combined.
Baking
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake for about 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cooling and Serving
- Allow the brownies to cool in the dish for about 10-15 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment paper.
- Cut into squares, dust with powdered sugar if desired, and enjoy!
Optional Glaze
- While cooling, prepare a simple lemon glaze by mixing powdered sugar with a splash of lemon juice. Drizzle over cooled brownies for added sweetness.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Freeze for up to a month.
