  • 2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 4-6 pieces hoagie rolls
  • to taste Sliced provolone cheese (optional)
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Start by placing your beef chuck roast at the bottom of your crockpot.
  2. Sprinkle salt and pepper generously over the beef.
  3. Place the au jus gravy mix evenly over the beef.
  4. Carefully pour the beef broth around the roast, ensuring that it doesn’t wash away the seasoning.
  5. Lay the sliced onions on top of the beef.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook the beef on low for 8 hours or on high for 4 hours.
  2. Once done cooking, shred the beef with two forks.
  3. Fill hoagie rolls with the tender beef and top with melted provolone cheese if desired.
  4. Serve with the broth ladled into individual servings as a dip for the sandwiches.

Notes

For Halal options, use halal-certified beef or chicken. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and reheat gently.
