  • 1 can 21 oz fruit filling (your choice, such as cherry or peach)
  • 1 box 15.25 oz yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted) 1 stick
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen berries optional for extra flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to get it warmed up for the deliciousness to come.
  2. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with a bit of butter or cooking spray to keep the cake from sticking.
  3. Spread the can of fruit filling evenly on the bottom of your prepared baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle the entire box of yellow cake mix over the fruit filling.
  5. Pour the melted butter over the cake mix, covering it evenly.
  6. If you’re using nuts, sprinkle them on top.
Baking
  1. Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and set.

  1. Allow it to cool slightly before serving, and enjoy with whipped cream or fresh fruit if desired.

Notes

You can substitute different flavors of cake mix or fruit filling. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
