Ingredients

For the filling
  • 1 pound Ground Beef Use halal-certified beef.
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded Feel free to use your favorite blend.
  • 4 large Tortillas, whole wheat or flour
  • 1 medium Onion, diced Optional or to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder Adjust for spice preference.
  • Salt and Pepper To taste.
  • Cooking Spray For the air fryer.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with diced onions (if using) until fully browned—about 7-10 minutes. Drain excess grease if necessary.
  2. Once cooked, return the beef to the skillet, sprinkle with garlic powder, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well, allowing the flavors to meld together for another 2-3 minutes.
  3. Lay out a tortilla on a flat surface. Add a layer of the beef mixture, followed by a generous sprinkle of shredded cheese. Roll tightly, tucking in the sides as you go to create a burrito-like wrap.
  4. Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and preheat for about 5 minutes.
  5. Lightly spray the wraps with cooking spray to achieve that golden-brown crisp. Place them seam side down in the air fryer basket in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd them. Air fry for 7-10 minutes, checking midway through for doneness. Flip the wraps halfway to ensure they are evenly crispy.
  6. Once done, allow the wraps to cool slightly, then slice in half and serve with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Substitutions: Try ground turkey or chicken for a leaner version or switch up cheeses for a different flavor. Keep an eye on the wraps in the air fryer as cooking times may vary by model.
