Preparation
- Start by greasing a 9×13-inch baking pan with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
- Stir in the vanilla extract for added flavor. Add a few drops of food coloring if desired.
- Remove the saucepan from heat, then add the Rice Krispies cereal. Stir well until the cereal is fully coated.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and use a buttered spatula or wax paper to spread it evenly. Allow it to cool for about 30 minutes.
- Once set, cut the treat into squares and sprinkle with colorful toppings for added flair.
Notes
To achieve the best texture, melt butter and marshmallows over low heat and mix gently. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
