  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted 1 stick
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Make sure it's alcohol-free
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup M&Ms Plus extra for topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. In a medium bowl, mix the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Fold in the M&Ms ensuring they are evenly dispersed in the brownie batter.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly. Top with additional M&Ms.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before lifting them out.
Serving
  1. Cut into squares and serve!

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3-4 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Freezing is possible for up to 3 months; thaw at room temperature or microwave to warm.
