Brownie Base
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted Ensure it's melted and not hot.
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs At room temperature.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour Sifted.
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder Sifted.
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
Optional Toppings
  • as desired Chocolate chips, nuts, or candy For added texture and flavor.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Stir until well blended. Add in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Let your brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting them into squares.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider substituting half of the sugar with a natural sweetener or using coconut oil instead of butter for a dairy-free option. Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
