Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Stir until well blended. Add in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- In another bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
- Pour the brownie batter into your prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let your brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting them into squares.
Notes
For a healthier version, consider substituting half of the sugar with a natural sweetener or using coconut oil instead of butter for a dairy-free option. Store leftover brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or in the refrigerator for a week. They can also be frozen for up to three months.
