Preparation
- In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the banana pudding mix and milk. Allow it to sit for about five minutes until it thickens.
- In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter. Make sure it doesn’t brown to keep the taste smooth.
- Once melted, remove from heat and add the Rice Krispies to the pot. Stir well until the cereal is evenly coated.
- Gently fold the whipped topping into the thickened banana pudding until well combined.
- In a large serving dish, layer half of the Rice Krispies mixture at the bottom. Spread half of the banana pudding mixture on top, then add a layer of fresh banana slices. Repeat with the remaining Rice Krispies, banana pudding mixture, and banana slices.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to allow the layers to set. Before serving, sprinkle with crushed vanilla wafers if desired.
Notes
To store leftovers, cover tightly with plastic wrap or place in an airtight container; can last up to 3 days in refrigerator. Best enjoyed fresh, not suitable for freezing.
