Preparation
- Start by heating a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Once hot, add the ground beef. Break it apart with a spatula as it cooks.
Cooking
- Once the beef is browned and no longer pink, add the minced garlic, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Stir well for about 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.
- Reduce the heat to lower, and gently fold in the fresh Thai basil leaves. Cook for an additional minute until the basil wilts, releasing its fragrant aroma.
Assembling
- Remove the skillet from heat. Lay out a lettuce leaf, adding a generous scoop of the beef-basil mixture onto the center. Carefully roll it up like a burrito, tucking in the sides as you go.
Serving
- Serve warm alongside a small dish of chili sauce for dipping. Enjoy the burst of flavors that encapsulate each bite!
Notes
You can replace ground beef with ground chicken or turkey for a lighter option. Ensure your skillet is properly heated for better browning of the meat. Do not overfill the rolls.
