Ingredients

For the Bread Bowl
  • 1 round round bread bowl (sourdough or your favorite bread)
For the Filling
  • 1 cup cooked seafood (shrimp, crab, or a delightful mix)
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup diced green onions
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill or parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the top off the round bread and scoop out the insides to create a hollow bowl. Save the bread that is removed for serving.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and lemon juice. Stir until smooth.
  4. Add in your cooked seafood, diced green onions, dill or parsley, and season to taste with salt and pepper. Mix until everything is evenly coated.
  5. Generously spoon the seafood filling into the hollowed bread bowl and pack it in.
Baking
  1. Place the filled bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

Ensure not to overbake the bread bowl for the perfect texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 2-3 days, reheating in the oven to keep the crust crispy.
