- Drain the mozzarella balls from their packaging and pat them gently with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.
- In a bowl, combine the extra-virgin olive oil, minced garlic, chopped basil, parsley, dried oregano, red pepper flakes (if using), salt, pepper, and lemon zest. Whisk it all together until well blended.
- Add the mozzarella balls to the bowl and carefully toss them in the marinade until they’re thoroughly coated.
Marinating
- Transfer the marinated mozzarella into an airtight container and pour any remaining marinade over the top. Seal the container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for a more robust flavor.
Serving
- Allow the marinated mozzarella to come to room temperature before serving.
