Preparation
- Roll out the pizza dough on a clean, floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch. Cut the dough into circles (about 6-8 inches in diameter).
- In a mixing bowl, combine diced cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, and optional spices. Mix well until evenly coated.
- Place a generous spoonful of the chicken Alfredo mixture on one half of each dough circle, leaving space to seal.
- Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a pocket. Press the edges together firmly to seal and crimp with a fork.
Cooking
- Lightly spray the tops of the calzones with olive oil spray.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Place the calzones in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- Let the calzones cool for a minute or two before serving.
Serving
- Serve the calzones with extra Alfredo sauce for dipping.
Notes
Consider using whole wheat or gluten-free pizza dough for a healthier option. Experiment with additional fillings like sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
