Ingredients

For the dough
  • 1 package Pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
For the filling
  • 2 cups Cooked chicken breast (diced)
  • 1 cup Alfredo sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup Shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese (optional) Optional topping
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Italian herbs (like oregano and basil)
  • to taste Salt and pepper To taste
  • as needed Olive oil spray For air frying

Method

Preparation
  1. Roll out the pizza dough on a clean, floured surface to a thickness of about 1/8 inch. Cut the dough into circles (about 6-8 inches in diameter).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine diced cooked chicken, Alfredo sauce, mozzarella cheese, and optional spices. Mix well until evenly coated.
  3. Place a generous spoonful of the chicken Alfredo mixture on one half of each dough circle, leaving space to seal.
  4. Fold the other half of the dough over the filling to create a pocket. Press the edges together firmly to seal and crimp with a fork.
Cooking
  1. Lightly spray the tops of the calzones with olive oil spray.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  3. Place the calzones in the air fryer basket in a single layer without overcrowding. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Let the calzones cool for a minute or two before serving.
Serving
  1. Serve the calzones with extra Alfredo sauce for dipping.

Notes

Consider using whole wheat or gluten-free pizza dough for a healthier option. Experiment with additional fillings like sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers.
