Preparation
- Preheat your air fryer to 320°F (160°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the buttermilk (or yogurt), egg, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
- Slowly stir the wet mixture into the bowl of dry ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
- Lightly grease your donut pan or use a silicone mold.
- Spoon the batter into the donut mold, filling each section about halfway.
Cooking
- Place the mold in the air fryer basket and cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the donuts are golden brown.
- Carefully remove the donuts and let them cool slightly before enjoying.

For extra flavor, try adding spices like cinnamon or cardamom. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
