Preparation
- Start with clean, scrubbed russet potatoes. Dry them thoroughly using a kitchen towel.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Prick each potato a few times with a fork to let steam escape during cooking. Then rub each one generously with olive oil and sprinkle them with salt and pepper.
Cooking
- Place the potatoes in the air fryer basket, ensuring they aren’t crowded, and cook for 35-40 minutes. Flip them halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- After about 35 minutes, check a potato for doneness by inserting a fork. It should slide in easily. If not, give them a few more minutes.
Serving
- Once they’re fluffy and perfectly cooked, take them out and let them cool slightly. Slice them open and add your favorite toppings.
Notes
These baked potatoes can be served with various toppings such as sour cream, shredded cheese, and green onions. They pair well with salads, grilled meats, chili, and hearty soups. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 4 days and reheated in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes.
