Preparation
- Chop your onion and measure out your other ingredients.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully incorporated.
- Form the mixture into burger-sized patties, aiming for about 4-6 patties.
Cooking
- Place the patties in the crockpot, layering if needed. Cook on low for about 6 hours or on high for 3 hours, until thoroughly cooked.
- In the last 10-15 minutes of cooking, place the shredded cheese on top of the patties to melt.
Serving
- Carefully remove the patties from the crockpot and serve them on burger buns with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
