Preparation
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined—don’t overwork that meat!
- Scoop about a tablespoon of the mixture into your hands and roll it into a ball. Repeat with the remaining meat mixture until all the meatballs are formed.
- In your Crock Pot, add the beef broth and caramelized onions. This will serve as the flavorful base for your meatballs.
Cooking
- Carefully place the meatballs into the slow cooker, making sure they’re mostly submerged in the broth.
- Set your slow cooker to low and cook for 6-8 hours or on high for about 3-4 hours.
- About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the meatballs. Close the lid and let it melt into gooey perfection.
Serving
- Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, garnish with fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy your flavorful creation!
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. You can also freeze the meatballs for up to 2-3 months. For a healthier version, consider using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef.
