Discover the ultimate snack with these crispy fried avocado bites! Creamy avocado encased in a golden, crunchy coating makes for an irresistible treat.

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Deep frying pan or pot
  • Tongs
  • Paper towels (for draining)

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe avocados sliced into wedges
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese optional, for extra flavor
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  • Prepare the Avocado Wedges:
  • Slice the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop out the flesh. Cut each half into 4–6 wedges.
  • Set Up the Breading Station:
  • Place the flour in one bowl.
  • In a second bowl, whisk the eggs.
  • In a third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese (if using), garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Bread the Avocado Slices:
  • Dredge each avocado slice in the flour, ensuring it’s evenly coated. Shake off any excess.
  • Dip the floured avocado into the beaten eggs, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Fry the Avocado Bites:
  • Heat about 1–2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium heat. The oil is ready when a small piece of bread dropped in sizzles immediately.
  • Fry the avocado bites in batches, avoiding overcrowding the pan. Cook for 2–3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Use tongs to remove the bites and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve and Enjoy:
  • Serve the crispy fried avocado bites warm with your favorite dipping sauces like ranch, chipotle mayo, or salsa.
