Ingredients

Dough Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (like carrots, bell peppers, and peas)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or a halal substitute)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Gradually add warm water and olive oil, mixing until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Filling
  1. In a pan, sauté the mixed vegetables over medium heat. Add garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and soy sauce. Stir until the vegetables are soft. Set aside to cool.
Assembly
  1. Divide the dough into small balls. Roll each ball into a thin circle on a lightly floured surface. Place a spoonful of the cooled vegetable filling in the center.
  2. Fold the dough over the filling, pressing the edges to seal them tightly.
Cooking
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the rolls in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Lightly brush each roll with olive oil for an extra crispy texture. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  2. Remove the rolls and sprinkle with sesame seeds for that final touch. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce!

Notes

Store leftover rolls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to a month. Reheat in the air fryer to restore crispiness.
