Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked or sweet)
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cumin (optional for an extra kick)
  • to taste fresh herbs for garnish (like parsley or cilantro)

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by cutting the sirloin or flank steak into bite-sized pieces. Aim for uniformity to ensure even cooking.
  2. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, black pepper, salt, and cumin (if using). Toss the beef pieces in the marinade until they are well-coated. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes for the flavors to meld.
  3. While the beef marinates, preheat your air fryer to 400°F (about 200°C) to ensure a crispy exterior.
  4. Place the marinated beef bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, making sure not to overcrowd them. You may have to do this in batches.
Cooking
  1. Air fry the beef bites for 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even cooking. Keep an eye on them to ensure they reach your desired level of crispiness!
  2. Once done, remove them from the air fryer and garnish with fresh herbs. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

For substitutions, you can use boneless chicken thighs or steak alternatives, ensuring they are halal-friendly. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 2 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 5-7 minutes to retain crispiness.
