Ingredients
  

  • 2 large cucumbers thinly sliced
  • ½ small red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise optional, for extra creaminess
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Cucumbers:
  2. Thinly slice the cucumbers using a knife or mandoline slicer for uniform pieces.
  3. Sprinkle the cucumber slices with a pinch of salt and let them sit in a colander for 15–20 minutes to draw out excess water. Pat dry with a paper towel.

  5. In a medium bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise (if using), white vinegar, sugar, dill, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy.
  6. Assemble the Salad:
  7. In a large bowl, combine the cucumbers and red onion slices. Pour the dressing over the vegetables and toss until well coated.
  8. Chill and Serve:
  9. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve cold.
