  • 1 pound Halal chicken sausage (sliced) You can substitute with turkey sausage.
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
Creamy Sauce
  • 1 cup heavy cream Substitute with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
Garnish
  • Chopped parsley For garnish.

Method

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Start by boiling water in a large pot. Once boiling, add a pinch of salt and the penne or rotini pasta. Cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Preparing the Sausage
  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced Halal chicken sausage and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Stir frequently.
Adding Vegetables
  1. Stir in the diced onion, garlic, and bell pepper into the skillet. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender and fragrant.
Making the Sauce
  1. Pour in the heavy cream and sprinkle in the Cajun seasoning. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Combining Ingredients
  1. Toss the cooked pasta into the creamy sauce, mixing gently to ensure everything is well coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serving
  1. Plate the pasta and garnish with chopped parsley to add a pop of color and freshness. Enjoy!

Notes

For best results, prep all ingredients before cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in a microwave or on the stovetop, adding a splash of cream or broth.
