Pasta and Sauce Ingredients
  • 8 oz Pasta of your choice, such as spaghetti or penne
  • 2 cups Cherry tomatoes, halved Use ripe tomatoes for best flavor.
  • 1 cup Fresh basil, roughly chopped Fresh basil enhances the dish significantly.
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Sauté until fragrant.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated (optional) Ensure it's a vegetarian option.

Method

Preparation
  1. Cook the Pasta: Begin by cooking your pasta according to the package instructions in a pot of salted boiling water. Cook until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes, and reserve ½ cup of the pasta water before draining.
  2. Sauté Garlic and Tomatoes: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Toss in the halved cherry tomatoes and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes start to soften.
  3. Add Cream: Pour in the heavy cream, season with salt and pepper, and allow it to simmer for a couple of minutes until it thickens slightly.
  4. Combine Everything: Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the creamy tomato mixture. If the sauce is too thick, add reserved pasta water gradually until you reach your desired consistency.
  5. Finish with Basil: Remove from heat and stir in the fresh basil until just wilted. Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  6. Serve: Spoon into bowls, sprinkle with parmesan cheese if desired, and garnish with a few extra basil leaves. Enjoy your Creamy Basil Tomato Pasta Delight while it’s hot!
