Preparation
- Begin by washing and chopping your cabbage, potatoes, and onion. Slice the sausages and mince the garlic.
Cooking
- In a large skillet or pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Allow them to sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.
- Add the sliced sausages to the skillet and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally until they start to brown.
- Add the chopped cabbage to the mixture, stirring well to combine everything. Cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing the cabbage to wilt slightly.
- Stir in the diced potatoes, followed by a generous pinch of salt and pepper. Mix everything together.
- Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until both the potatoes and cabbage are tender.
- Once cooked, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
Notes
For best results, cut uniform pieces, experiment with different herbs, and avoid overcrowding the pan during cooking. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days, and reheating with a splash of water keeps it moist.
